| 内容記述 | In Kagoshima prefecture, a considerable number of the working-age population (15–64 years old) migrates to other areas despite the fact that the young population (under 15 years old) is larger than the national average. The major causes of this population outflow are the small number of large companies and low wages in the prefecture. Although the overall economy is not so good, some new developments of the agricultural sector and financial sectors have been observed. However, the prefecture needs to strengthen its role in “Car Island Kyushu” to attract automo bile manufacturers (including electronic parts manufacturers) to Kagoshima. Through the use of economic data, the aim of this paper is to reveal the current conditions and challenges for the economy and financial industry in Kagoshima prefecture. | |||||||||||
