| 内容記述 | The purpose of this study was to clarify the relation between the feeling that life is worth living (Ikigai-kan) and social interaction among the middle-aged and elderly from 55 to 64. The analysis was based on 105 middle-aged and elderly among respondents to a large questionnaire survey which was conducted for general adults over 20 to 64 year-old who live on islands in the Ryukyu arc. Females showed higher scores of Ikigai-kan than males, and there was no difference in Ikigai-kan among age groups. Multiple regression analysis was conducted for each sex group. Objective variable was Ikigai-kan score, and explanatory variables were age, health state and the indices of social interaction. The results of multiple regression analysis showed that for men, "Independence", "Interest in society", "Participation in society" and "Health state" each affected the degree of Ikigai-kan. For women, "Independence", "Interest in society" and "Feeling of safety" were relevant to the degree of Ikigai-kan. |
