| 内容記述 | This paper aims to determine the level of familiarity with and interest in haiku as well as tea tourism among visitors to a famous Japanese garden. This field a niche form of literary and culinary tourism. The research accounts for 33 valid survey responses conducted among 200 visitors at Sengan-en a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Kagoshima, Kagoshima Prefecture. The data was collected using a diagnostic survey method in situ. The results of the survey showed the respondents were interested in the idea of haiku and tea tourism. In addition, most of the respondents indicated that they would be willing to take part in a haiku tourism event. The 12 interviewers were asked to fill-in a self-reported evaluation before and after confirmation of progress as well as an activity record sharing their thoughts on interacting with foreign tourists in English and Chinese languages. The obtained results, although preliminary in nature, may imply the plausibility of introducing and disseminating the idea of haiku and tea tourism by university students among foreign visitors to kaagoshima, and indicate a need for further research in this field. | |||||||||
