In addition, it highlights the significant research on the economic evaluation of nursing service labor. Service labor has traditionally been called unproductive labor because production and consumption occur simultaneously and it does not produce any physical goods. Recently, however, Kushida (2016) introduced the labor value formation theory, which states that service labor can impact a person’s ability to produce changes in that ability. In this study, the researchers analyzed the production and consumption processes of nursing service labor based on Kushida’s argument. As a result, the production and consumption processes of nursing service labor existed simultaneously and continuously in the respective positions of nurses and patients. Moreover, in the process of value production by labor, the interaction between nurses and patients positively influenced the process of value production by nurses, and the value of the process itself was enhanced. In the future, more empirical research will need to be conducted to clarify the reality of nursing service labor.
