This analysis aims to understand the interaction in the number of overnight stays among the prefectures in Kyushu and Okinawa and among the various districts of Kagoshima Prefecture to grasp the behavioral patterns of tourists visiting these regions. Based on the Granger causality test, the paper finds that international tourists tend to visit several prefectures, while domestic tourists tend to see only one prefecture.
