| 内容記述 | This paper conducts a time-series analysis of the monthly data on the number of overnight stays in the Kyushu-Okinawa region and in eight districts in Kagoshima Prefecture from January 2007 to December 2019 and from January 2011 to December 2019, respectively. This analysis aims to understand the interaction in the number of overnight stays among the prefectures in Kyushu and Okinawa and among the various districts of Kagoshima Prefecture to grasp the behavioral patterns of tourists visiting these regions. Based on the Granger causality test, the paper finds that international tourists tend to visit several prefectures, while domestic tourists tend to see only one prefecture. Furthermore, the impulse response function analysis confirms that shocks to each prefecture and district increase the number of overnight guests in other prefectures or districts and that the positive effect persists for several to six months afterward. | |||||||
