The exported amount of ‘shochu’ during 2010~2022 increased only 42%, while ‘seishu’ increased to 5.6 times. The reasons for this are 1) low awareness of ‘shochu’ in overseas countries, 2) ‘shochu’ in Japan is drunk with meal, while distilled liquors are drunk before or after meal in overseas countries, 3) late start of ‘shochu’ distiller in export business. The most important is 1) low awareness.
